Favorite Cause and Effect Songs

First of all, let me just say that I love ALL of Cause and Effect's songs. I just like some more than others. And some have extra special meaning for me. In general, their music is AMAZING! I can't even think of words that are worthy to describe it. Exquisite comes to mind. They have beautiful, intricate melodies. There are so many little details in each song. And the lyrics have a way of expressing those feelings you could never quite put into words yourself. When you listen to it, it goes beyond just hearing the music. You feel the music in the depths of your soul. Their music is meaningful. Introspective. Emotional. Timeless.

So here are some of my favorites in no particular order. Click on the song title to listen. Maybe you will discover some new music to add to your collection.

Alone - This has to be my all time favorite song. EVER. It is absolutely beautiful. This is one of those songs that is so intricate. Layer upon layer of the most gorgeous sounds you've ever heard. It evokes so many emotions, I can't even put it into words. Just listen and see for yourself.

Fading - This one's new, not even released yet, but it is beautiful and I already love it. This is the pre-mix version. I hope they don't change anything. It's perfect the way it is. It's a lot simpler than a lot of their songs. It's almost acoustic. The music is dreamy and refreshing, and Rob's voice is gorgeous as always.

You Think You Know Her - This was their big hit on the radio. People said they sounded like Depeche Mode. Are you kidding me? Those people need to get their ears checked.

She Said - "Insanity will set you free, but lock you up inside your mind." Pure genius.

Real? - Bonus points for using the word "serotonin" in a song. :)

It's Over Now - The first single from TRIP. A classic. And they released an excellent video for it. Watch it here and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mexico and the adorable close up shots of Rob.

Nothing Comes To Mind - Another of my all time favorites. Should have been a hit.

Mars - Filtered vocals and a hint of sitar make this one ultra cool.

Overdose - Besides some of the best lyrics ever, this song really shows Rob's incredibly amazing vocal talent. The music is also gorgeous. So many layers. I would love to hear this one live.

Leaded - "You're tongue tied and your soul cries on the inside." Perfect way to describe how I was feeling the first time I heard it. Makes me cry.

Future - Speaking of songs that make me cry, this one's simply beautiful.

Happy? - "Is anybody happy here?" You will be after you listen to this. Check out some awesome remixes here.

Sinking - "A million thoughts in one night can't be wrong..."

Soul Search - Yet another one of my all time favorites. Amazing lyrics. "Don't know where you're going, You'll know when you get there." Oh yeah!

Happiness is Alien - One of their newer songs. Sung from the point of view of an alien. The video is great. Watch it here. And they released some excellent remixes. Check them out here.

Inside Out - Check out the Primordial Ooze mix. One of the best remixes EVER! I love the vocal effects!

Buried - Another one that seems like it was written just for me. Makes me want to get up and dance! Oh - you won't find it on any of their albums. It's a bonus track on The Happiness? EP.

OK. If I don't stop now, I'm going to end up listing all of their songs! Thanks for looking!
